  20.       I have created an object from a Type 1 font and have extruded it. 
  21. When I check the surface normal's orientation at this point things are 
  22. OK. When I lasso the front poly's (the faces) and add a bevel, the 
  23. surface normals change independently to both directions. Using Align 
  24. (even after merge points) seems useless. Any ideas on how to battle this 
  25. dilemma?

  27.     Also, just out of curiosity, how do you (personally) assign your 
  28. surfaces to text objects? I start with applying the side surface to 
  29. everything, then select the beveled edge and face and apply the bevel 
  30. surface and finally go in and hand select the face only and apply the 
  31. face surface. This seems odd to me, but it was how I saw others doing it 
  32. when I started...

  35. Hastings will have a "lightwave mailing list" function built into 4.0! :-)
